The price of the PBD 40 is a bit high. I would say 10-15% cheaper and it would sell like hotcakes. Looks - nothing comes close on the market. Unless you spend a lot more (it does look really nice in the shop) Quality - Bosch green for the home handyman is perfect this is not a precision machine but close enough for the hobbyist Accuracy - Drilling is accurate enough for me, I drill mostly into wood and aluminium take it slow and it is perfect, I do not require accuracy to the 0.05 mm for what I do. Laser Accuracy - Not really to be used it could have been better mine was 3.5mm out could not adjust the angle either from outside, maybe once opened!! Built in Clamp - Works well for me and holds the work piece nicely in place. Use a piece of scrap hardwood between the wood and the clamp face or it can leave a mark. Supplied Guide - Never used it!!! Chuck - Best I have used, similar to the normal key less I would have appreciated a bit more space between the body cover and the top of the check. Depth Stop - Not easy to operate lever is a bit tucked away but works well. Speed Control - Works well, a bit of a fiddle initially but once you have drilled small and large holes at different speeds it is easy to set. Wish List - Dust Cover and Vacuum Hose attachment for the rear. Cons - None yet Assembly - No issues found Recommended for the home handy man. but for a good looking drill press this is OK.
